On October 6th, 2018 we have been invited to a charity car show event and Betty asked if I could post this for all members to see. Cost is $50 and proceeds go towards building the Veterans Honor Park in Lancaster. Entry includes a tour of Mr Lombardo’s private exotic car collection and we are invited to bring our cars as well for outdoor spaces are going to be dedicated for an attendee car show. If you want to dedicate a brick in the park, the donation for that is reduced by the entry to the car show event cost as well, though I’m sure they’d be glad to take additional donations. It is set up to be tax deductible according to the flyer. Below is the letter received to our club. We hope to see you there if you’re able!

Dear PA Dutch Region AACA
I am a member of a volunteer group that is developing the Veterans Honor Park of Lancaster County. The park is a tribute to every veterans in every branch of the United States military — “Honoring veterans past, present, and paying it forward to the future”. Our effort is well underway and overwhelmingly supported by members of the community and corporations. You may visit our website at http://www.vetshonorparklanco.org/
As part of our fund raising effort, we are planning an event on October 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Lancaster. Attendees will include an invited group from the Lancaster region and beyond. The gathering will be hosted by Mr. Sam Lombardo, the president of Benecon Insurance and major donor to the park. Mr. Lombardo will open his collection of special vehicles to the attendees: including, among many, his 2003 Aston Martin DB AR1 Roadster, 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, 2009 Mercedes McLaren, 2010 Porsche GT3 RS, 2012 McLaren MP4 12C, and 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale. In addition, we have invited the owners of a number of other award-winning antique cars to showcase their vehicles.
I recently spoke with Steve Moskowitz, AACA in Hershey. He suggested that I should contact you with hope that you will include our event invitation in your newsletter, website, and perhaps an email to your regional members. A copy of our invitation to the event is attached with all the specific information listed – location, date, time, admission, drinks / hors d’oeuvres, special offers, etc.
We appreciate the fact that the AACA is having the great Eastern Fall National in Hershey from October 10 to 13. However, we’re hoping that a number of your attendees will accept our invitation and take a short side trip to Lancaster to see this amazing collection of supercars, while at the same time, honor all of our military veterans. They’re also invited to bring their special vehicle to the gathering and park in an area being set aside just for them.
Please contact me with any questions or comments. Thank you.
